Little miss Moon passed away today. She really was a phenominal little dog and I'll miss her a lot. We buried her this evening - with her favorite blanket and a nutrigrain bar (her newest favorite snack) and all I could think was that she'd rather have had the prime rib. You see, when Hubs and I first brought her home, we weren't well prepared for her, weren't even staying at our own place that night and since we had no dog food on hand, she got the leftovers from our dinner out. So her first meal with us was prime rib. Just seemed like it would have been fitting. Hubs is gong to carve her a headstone tomorrow. Hearts in my family are a bit broken tonight.
Thanks. She was doing well, we thought she would pull through, but she stopped eating or drinking anything. The vets did everything they could - it just wasn't enough. It's almost like she was giving us time to adjust, come to terms with it, before she let go.
