Well, the emergency vet has yet to find out what's wrong with Champ. They've kept him for observation for the weekend. Good for me in that I don't have to clean up after him but bad too. He's the GOOD dog. It's the other one that drives me bats.

Hopefully he'll come home on Monday.

well, we figured out why the Hubster got Carlos for a good bit less than he'd expected to pay for a jungle carpet python (even at a reptile show)... He's got mites. Which is not insurmountable since we appear to have caught it early and he's very far away from our other herps. It just sucks though - they're wicked hard to completely get rid of and carpets seem to be quite sensitive to some of the sprays out there. But, so far, we've only seen one adult and three or four itty bitties. That's not too bad. Catching it now, we may well be able to get a grip on it before anything bad happens. We figure the breeder knew and cleaned him up enough to sell and got rid of him cheap. (well, cheapER anyway).

On the writing - I actually got time to work today! Miracle of miracles!! about 4k added onto Switch and have 3 or 4 scenes left to write and it too will be done and phase one will nearly be complete. One more story to write and I have bits of it planned in my head. Technically, I have a TON of ideas but I'm thinking I might just keep to one central theme. Especially since Venus, Evolution, Switch, and Closed Eyes all have one thing in common - various levels of artificialness that becomes something more. But, that takes out a few things I had planned for so I need to come up with at least the story in my head, if not two or three more flash bits around the same basic sphere of stuff.

I'm waiting to hear back on LOTS of stuff and it's driving me a bit bats but I'm trying not to complain too much. I've queried nearly everyone who is past their 'scheduled' return date by more than 4 weeks. I tend to give a 4 week leeway window so as not to annoy editors... There are some bits of silence that are a little unnerving as they are markets I like or markets that appeared to have wicked awesome potential. But - that's how this business works.

Ok - I'm giving myself another 20 minutes work time and then I'm headed for bed. I've got to get CrazyHorse off to school tomorrow and I really should decorate for Easter this year. Since Wolverine doesn't have reflux anymore I have very little excuse and I'm already in hot water from CrazyHorse for not having put out the V-Day decos. Let's forget how sick mama was and just complain that she forgot :P:P:P

The new addition has a name and a temporary tank - just a little setup while we make sure everything is good with him (we've had mixed luck with animals from shows.)
