I managed to ruin one painting (just trust me... was horrible...) but, for the first time picking up a brush in 5 years, first time touching oils in 8, it could have been even worse!! I did manage to do something else while I was doodling. It may be the best doodle I've done in just as long so maybe there is something to this urges thing.

Meet my Carraine people. This is a juvenile Male, no color yet. I'm working on it. Don't have the right pencils for this so will be doing it digitally I guess.




But - he's not horrible :)

Every once in a while, I come across something in my wanderings that I drool over - something I itch to possess.  Today, that something is in french (so I apologise for those uninclined to attempt it)...  I want this book...

Ysambre    Tell me this doesn't look absolutely gorgeous... 

What I wouldn't give to be able to draw and paint like that - so beautiful, so rich, so detailed. I don't know as I'd ever want to trade my pen for a paintbrush but it must be awesome to be so gifted.
