This month has been very nice to me so far! As much as I am really thrilled with the acceptances I've had this month (will announce when contracts have been signed etc.), Ender was the best birthday present I've had in a long time. Made that much better by the fact that no one appears to be allergic to him. CrazyHorse is, however, a bit sensative to the dust created by tidy cats so we're trying an 'all natural' cat litter and seing how that goes. I have a few things I'm mulling, a few things I'm rethinking, a few things I'm working on. Thosha is making progress. I'm liking the changes I've been making. I still have hope making my September goal with it. Even have the first three agents on my query list. That's the worst part about writing - the submitting. The complete loss of control. Once I send a piece out, I have absolutely zero power over what happens next. Anyway - I have a list of stories I'm working on again. Thosha (of course), Lost in Storage (Which I hope to have ready by may), Thunderbird/Sparrow (or whatever it ends up being titled, Wastelanders/Sniper's Daughter, Idol of Seduka, Moronar's Blade, and a marketing thing for LP. I don't know if the stories will work but I've decided that I need to get at least those stories done before I start on the novella that is brewing - Prophets of War. When those things are done, I think I'm going to attempt to step away from the Acknivarian Cycle for a little while - work on something completely different, completely out of my comfort zone. Try something new. Maybe that will help stir something up... on a followup note - since I don't think anyone is going to attempt the name thing... Ender is from Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game and series of other novels in that same world. Case is from William Gibson's Neuromancer. Griffin is from the Invisible Man. Jareth is the Goblin King in the Labyrinth. Bastian is the little boy in The Never Ending Story. Gage is the little boy in Pet Semetary. Elric is of course, Michael Moorcock's character. If Hubster and I had ever had a third boy, his middle name would have been Ender. But, since we can't have any more kids, it's safe to use the name for my kitty :) ~S Tags: cat, writing
