This month, one of the Crit groups I'm a member of, diiww  is doing a focus on poetry (of course... it's April) and I've been playing around with formal poetry. I have always been drawn to formal poetry but intimidated by rhyme. When I try to rhyme, it always sounds forced and contrived. I sound more like Dr Seuss than Tom Waits. So, I've been working on form poetry in forms that don't require rhyme and changing the ones that do to suit me. 

It's strange but, because of my playing around, I've written quite a number of poems recently that may turn out to be pretty decent.

I've not being doing the greatest at keeping my goals this year so far. That's all right though. Life happens to us all.

Anyway - I do have some writing goals for April. This month is poetry month at diiww so I'm going to be working a lot on that. I'm also working my way through the revisions for Strange Angels. And also working on a novella  - Thunderbird. That's aside from my current wip - Vessel. so, I'm busy as far as writing is concerned.

Not to mention I get submitting. My acceptance rate isn't really where I want it to be, but it's not zero so, that's something. That's a big something actually.
