This saturday, July 25th, at 11pm EST, I'll be appearing on The Dark Fiction Show. I've nevver done something like this before so I'm really interested to see how it goes.

What do you get when you put a shy, socially awkward housewife on a show to ask about her book? I guess we'll find out, won't we?

Updates first: Moon is home and on the mend, after some interesting days. Surgery went well but her stomach got slightly inflamed. She's definately feeling better and finally eating. The biopsy results came back on the baseball of a tumor and there is NO sign of cancer! Given her history (she lost a leg to cancer about five years ago) this just amazed us all. She's soon to be back to her snorting, grouching, spoiled rotten self!

The writing is going pretty well right now - the funk finally passed. It's all the scorpion's fault. I've been kind of obsessed with them since writing Griffin and I found a way to sneak one into a fantasy story I'm polishing up but, once I'd gotten that story done, Purgatory's Queen started calling me again. A huge relief, let me tell you!

Thosha-Tol is still being queried, though now under a new title: Guardian of the Gods. Hopefully that little change will be a positive one.

Hardwired Humanity got a new review! Over at SFReader (a great review site btw) and Gustavo was quite kind to my stories.

Also: I'm going to be on the internet radio discussing Hardwired Humanity very soon over at the Dark Fiction Show. I'll be posting the dates etc very soon - keep everyone informed.

I'm hoping that this means things are starting to look up. Really hoping.

And again - it's pretty nice to me overall.

Hardwired Humanity got reviewed over at SFreader - if you get a chance, check it out. I'm quite tickled by the 9 of 10 part. It's really nicely detailed, though I'm not sure I ever saw Shade in quite that light. (For the record, the character came before the screen name, not the other way around. Sarah is way too common a name.)

So, Hardwired Humanity got reviewed by The Fix. I have some interesting problems with this review - especially with Switch as Kora was never presented as a replacement that I can think of. I can see where that conclusion is reached sort of but at the same time, there are bits and pieces of discussion that should lead to a different conclusion. But - s'ok. Most of the rest of the review is pretty nice. It's a little funny though how one reader can see one thing in a story, while someone else sees something very different. Evolution has so far been the preferred story - but not in this case. Overall - it's not a bad review so that's something ;) And for the record - I have considered doing some more with Avery - it just hasn't struck me yet. Maybe in time.
